Alexandria (Alex) Berg- Programme Coordinator
alexandria@travelwithdaysack.co.uk

Alex, a travel lover, studied abroad at the University of Ghana in 2012. That trip really made her fall in love with the country, its culture, food, people, and communities. It was there that she found her passion and career path. She took a class that changed everything for her. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree in Public Health. During her graduate studies, she worked with an organisation called West African Medical Missions in Sierra Leone. She spent time in communities, helping to build stronger human resource networks and address health disparities. She did this by teaching local youth a science-based health curriculum that was tailored to their needs. She also got them involved in civic engagement projects. She connected local youth with opportunities to use their skills with local organisations and work alongside international mentors to promote healthy values and behaviours. She also helped address local health challenges. Alex recently returned to Ghana in January 2024. She grew up in Wisconsin, USA, and now works at the state level, providing support and guidance for drug prevention initiatives. She’s also had experience leading local community health and mobilising initiatives. She teaches exercise classes for cancer survivors and volunteers with local nonprofits. Alex can’t wait to meet new people from all over the world and share Ghanaian cultural experiences through Travel with Daysack!
